What does an Interior Designer do?
Provides a range of services to help the commercial client achieve a safe, code compliant and aesthetically pleasing functional
space. This is achieved through a process to include some or all of the following: programming, space planning, furniture
and/or finish selection, design review (with client), bidding, construction drawings, specifications, permitting, and construction
administration.
What is NCIDQ?
National Council for Interior Design Qualification.
The purpose of NCIDQ is to protect the health, life safety and welfare of the public by establishing standards of competence
in the practice of interior design. To be NCIDQ certified a designer must meet the minimum qualifications (Applicants must
have completed an education program of at least 40 semester or 60 quarter credit hours and a total of 7,040 hours of experience
w/ an Interior Designer or Architect) and pass a rigorous three part exam.
